I went to a job the other day when a customer was asking many more question about my qualifications than normal. which I don't mind and expect.
I ask why they where so worried? and they informed me about how they had used a so call professional carpet cleaner to clean their rug. And how it had come back damaged from the clean.
I asked if they still had the rug. And they did as the insurance claim, (which they had to use theirs as the so called carpet cleaner did not have any). had not gone through.
So I had a look just to see what this so call professional had done. The colour had run. which means that he had used a high PH detergent and also where the Rug was old the fringe was coming apart, which he had made worse.
My advise to them was that they should always look out for a carpet cleaner that was "Woolsafe Approved" this trade mark is a sign that the carpet cleaner uses and understands about wool carpets and rugs.
I my self am woolsafe approved and use products that have been tested by them.
